LOS ANGELES -- Veteran public relations executives John Avery and Marc Kaplan have announced the formation of a private acquisition firm, which will target fledgling music and media companies. AKS Media will focus on the assets of entertainment entities which are liquidating assets or divesting content due to today’s troubling economy.

“Our objective is to sustain the intellectual property of brands which are struggling and fund them for future revenue generation” stated AKS President John Avery.

AKS Media is currently meeting with representatives from internet start-ups and independent record companies, which AKS will consider or their portfolio.

“There are hundreds of entertainment and media businesses which are left with a choice to liquidate or file bankruptcy. We can target the assets which fit our brand for purchase, in addition to helping some of these continue on without long-term losses” said Kaplan.

Avery and Kaplan have been representing entertainment clients in the entertainment business for over 3 decades via their agency and public relations firms.
